The Sticky Note Solution

Are the edges of your pictures looking ragged or dusty when you print them full-frame? Dirt and grunge collects along the edge of the film plane in your Minox.

To clean it, take a piece of Post-it style note paper, put it into the slot where the film runs, sticky part facing the lens, and pull the camera full-open, pushing the pressure plate against the paper. Push the camera closed slightly again and remove the paper. Repeat this until the note comes out clean.

The stickum will clean out any grunge, leaving your film plane sharper. This is no replacement for a clean-and-lube, but it helps clean up your shots and can keep the pressure plate from sticking against the film plane when the camera doesn't have film in it.
