It was taken during the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal, Canada. Actually this event inspired me to become a marathon runner as well & although I'm not running any more marathons, my younger son does. "Back to the photo.... it was taken at the half way point and it was raining hard, but as you can see, the lead runners Bill Rodgers & Frank Shorter of the U.S. didn't seem to mind it at all. Unfortunately the E. German runner on the left of Bill Rogers won the event that year. His name was Waldemar Cierpinski.".
