I've been interested in Minox Photography
for almost 12 years. Actually
it started earlier than that when my dad had a Minox when I was
growing up (oh so many years ago). I started with a Minox B that
I picked up on eBay. Then
it was a Minox IIIs from an uncle and a Minox C from a
colleague at work in quick order. Since then I've picked up an EC,
a GTX (I know, not 8x11)
and recently a couple of Minox Classics (IIIf and M3).
I've been working in photography since the early 60s when I have my first
"paid gig" shooting pictures for a church summer camp.
(I still have fond memories
of taking pictures one day, rushing home, developing the film,
printing the pictures that night on my Ansco Contact Printer and
taking the prints in
the next day. I think I got a whole 25 cents per shot. For a 7th
grader, that was a lot of money.) Since then I've been a wedding
photographer, a portrait
photographer, an ad photographer and a stringer for
several newspapers.
(Who remembers the Kansas City Blues Hockey Club?)
I love the ability to always have a camera around with my Minox. However,
my employer frowns on me bringing one to work. (If I tell you who
I work for, I
have to kill you. But it is appropriate that I collect Minoxi.)
